Zippo has made me a better person, and I am extremely grateful that he was a part of my life. Zippo passed away on November 2, 2015 after a long fight with spinal neuropathy—a degenerative disease that has no treatment. Fortunately, he was not in any pain, and despite slowly losing his ability to walk properly, Zippo continued to be strong, happy, and grateful for my and my family's companionship. He was with us for 14 wonderful years that will forever change the rest of mine. On his last day, the veterinarian (who had been his veterinarian since he was 2 months old) told me that Zippo fought for so long because he loved his life and the people around him happy. And it was true. One day, Zippo could not stand up on his own anymore and he spent more than 2 months recumbent, and yet he never looked depressed. Zippo remained a happy dog until the end and I will always admire his courage. I love you and I miss you Zippo.
